New OCT

Date: November 2011
Location:

Aiea, Hawaii

We recently updated our Ocular Coherence Tomographer (OCT).  This technology allows us to view the retina.  It is similar to a MRI where we can see the cross section layers of the Retina.  This is important for many disorders of the eye such as Glaucoma, Diabetes, Macular Degeneration and all other disorders of the retina.

Our previous OCT could scan the retina with 2000 scans per 2 seconds.  Our new OCT can scan 2 million scans in 2 seconds.  This gives us more data and thus increases the reliability of diagnosing retinal problems.
